Rebecca Wang supports Vogue 100: A Century of Style in honor of British Vogue’s 100th anniversary on February 8th.
In honor of their 100th anniversary as one of the most prestigious and influential style, fashion, and culture magazines in the world, British Vogue hosted a black-tie dinner on February 8th at London’s National Portrait Gallery. Rebecca Wang supported the event, all proceeds of which will be going to the National Portrait Gallery in London.
Supermodels old and new graced the celebration with the presence, including Lily Donaldson, Jerry Hall, Karlie Kloss, and Jordan Dunn. The prestigious event featured an exhibition of over 280 photographs commissioned by British Vogue over the last century, showcasing some of the most iconic photographs and photographers to ever bring their flare to British Vogue. The works of such renowned photographers as Mario Testino, Tim Walker, Nick Knight, Cecil Beaton, Irving Penn, David Bailey, and many more were on display at the event, and will remain on display as part of the Vogue 100: A Century of Style exhibit at London’s National Portrait Gallery.
According to Rebecca Wang, the 100th anniversary for British Vogue is not simply about honoring the past, but also looking forward to further creativity and innovation from the magazine.
“The influence that British Vogue has had on fashion and entertainment over the last century is unquestionable, helping to elevate London as one of the leading fashion capitals of the world,” she commented. “Fashion is an outward expression of creativity, so Vogue’s work has had a huge impact on fashion sense and style.”
“I think celebrating the magazine’s past makes their future all the more exciting,” she continued. “British Vogue will undoubtedly continue to be in the vanguard of the style and fashion scenes in London and across the world, and I’m excited to see creativity and innovation from them.” Rebecca Wang continued her patronage of fashion and the arts with her support for this event.
The exhibition’s curator is Robin Muir, a contributing editor to British Vogue, and Patrick Kinmouth is the designer and artistic director for the exhibit. The Vogue 100: A Century of Style exhibit will be open to the public on February 11 through May 22 before going on display at the Manchester Art Gallery from June 24 to October 30.
